Roof Assured by Sarnafil has recently celebrated 20 years of successful trading; one of the factors underpinning growth is the close relationships the brand builds with its approved installer network. Supporting the installer network is key to helping installers boost their sales and their bottom line.
Installers join Roof Assured to extend their product portfolio and come from a variety of business including existing roofing contractors and home improvement companies. After an initial assessment they are registered onto one of the company’s four day, residential intensive training course at the Sika Training Academy in Welwyn Garden City. The course is just the beginning of their relationship with Roof Assured. Maurice Curtis, Field Technician and Roof Assured Trainer says: “We don’t just send them out of the door after their training; additional on site training continues until the installers are confident to go it alone. After that they have the peace of mind of knowing there is a whole application team at the end of the phone or ready to go to site. Collaboration is absolutely key.”
The emphasis on technical and professional support is emphasised by Jordan and Sam Dearlove, Directors at Volsen UK. They have built a successful and growing business on the reputation of the product (Sarnafil single ply membrane), the quality of the installation (training and technical support) and an entrepreneurial approach (professional and practical). Both are particularly complimentary about the quality of technical support they receive from the highly regarded field technicians and the professional help from the Roof Assured business development teams.
Ian Hunt, managing director, Inner World Design & Build, credited Sika technical support on a recent Grand Design project: “It was a fantastic project, brilliantly designed and carefully detailed. Technically the installation was quite demanding and, on top of that, we had to catch a break in the weather as we were laying the roof during a period of prolonged wet weather. The assistance from the Sika technical team, along with Simon Roche of SPR Roofing, in meeting the challenges posed by this complicated roof was absolutely invaluable. On behalf of ourselves and our client we offer them our gratitude”.
As well as ongoing technical support installers also receive a complete marketing package including literature, giveaways, web support, consumer presentations, display materials for showrooms, advertising support, DVD’s and samples. Roof Assured also invest in a broad range of on and offline B2C marketing to raise brand awareness and generate leads which are passed onto installers.
The brand has recently piloted a tool to provide installers with detailed demographics covering a geographical distance of their business postcode. This is to help them identify key areas for growth through understanding the characteristics of the region where they are operating.
Building brand awareness is also important for installers. Roof Assured therefore invests heavily in exhibiting at major consumer shows including the National Homebuilding and Renovating events across the country. Charles Pierce, National Sales Manager, Sika Sarnafil, said: “Communicating the brand heritage of the Sarnafil membrane to ‘newbuilders and renovators’ is an important part of our marketing strategy. Single ply membrane roofing is a very popular solution for anyone embarking on a refurbishment or new build project. The Homebuilding & Renovating brand profile is exactly the audience we want to reach to build brand awareness and generate leads for our installer network.
Gary Bower, Managing Director at Paxtons Home Improvements in Essex said: “Our business is very much focussed on a range of home improvement products which now includes the Roof Assured by Sarnafil flat roofing system. The credentials of the Sarnafil brand are a very good fit to our product and service proposition but, as important, is the level of technical, marketing and training support we receive from Roof Assured. This level of support is an important factor in connecting with customers; they need to know that they are working with an installer they can trust and has the expertise of a credible brand behind them. The flat roof membrane is a natural extension to our core conservatories and orangeries product category and, we’ve even gone so far as to innovate our new showroom by creating an orangerie with lantern lights and a Sarnafil membrane roof. The roof has been left exposed on the inside so that visitors can see the build up of the structure and materials used. So I think you could safely say that our relationship with Roof Assured is mutually supportive”.
Roof Assured is focussed on partnering with installers committed to joining a growing and successful brand. Strong installer support underpins the future of everyone’s success.
