Now back from the Homebuilding and Renovating Show, Harrogate our last show for the year, it’s time for a quick reflection on what we’ve learned For a start our stands are always busy – in fact that’s an understatement – they are very, very busy and never, ever boring. We might not have the largest stand but we certainly have one of the busiest. Who knew that flat roofs could be so exciting to so many people?!
Over the past year we’ve meet so many enthusiastic and committed homebuilders and renovators with stories to tell, plans to show us, questions to ask and I can confidently say that they leave us in awe of the level of interest, research and planning that they put into their projects. From a small extension to a huge Grand Designs build, one thing shines through – quality is paramount and we’re in the great position of being able to tell them all about the very high credentials of the Sarnafil single ply membrane.
We talk about the Sarnafil single ply membrane assuming that everyone knows what that is in terms of a flat roofing solution but perhaps, not surprisingly, many people visit the stand to learn more about this relatively new technology. Well ‘new’ to the domestic market, but we always point out that the Sarnafil membrane is a tried and tested product and has been used on roofs around the world for more than 40 years. We often hear ‘our architect has specified or recommended Sarnafil for our project and we’ve come to your stand find out more’. That’s because, in the world of architecture, Sarnafil has become the generic word for single ply membranes – a single ply roofing membrane IS Sarnafil.
What else do visitors want to know – How is the membrane installed? How long does it last? What sort of guarantees does it come with? What does it look like? How much does I cost? Examples of where it has been used – visitors are always interested to know that the Sarnafil membrane has been used on high profile commercial projects such as The Emirates Stadium, Centre Parcs, St Pancras Station and the installation demos always attract crowds.
We’re also delighted that Homebuilding and Renovating’s Jason Orme chose the Sarnafil roofing solution for his own home renovation project and has written a great blog about his experience.
So much to say about these shows but if you’d like a summary of what I’ve said above take a look at our video which was filmed at one of the HB&R Shows last year.
I’ll give a five star rating for the shows and apart from drinking too many flat whites, eating too many paninis and talking myself hoarse it’s been great meeting you all. If you have a homebuilding or renovating project don’t miss them or us! We’ll be back exhibiting next year – North, South and in the middle. See you there.
